PEDAGOGIC
MODEL

The fundamental idea of the method is that inorder to be able to understand and analyze films and TV programs more than theoretical knowledge is needed.

The practical work with children and adults is made up of two connectin parts, techincal one aimed at teachin how the medium functions and how producers can manipulate their audiences, and an analytical one aimed at teaching how form and contents work together to get the medium's message across. A secondary goal of the project is to map and clarify the differences beween the way children and adults comprehend and interpret mass media messages.

In odrer to achieve these goals, we have created practical exerceses which both teach children how the media functions and at the same time show the adults how the children interpret what they see on "the TV screen". In this way their own reality becomes the basis for discuddions on the children's experiences and comprehension. Its not our aim to turn children, teachers, personnel and parents into professional film experts and film-makers, The idea is to give children and adults the chance to learn hto to make films, discull films, understand and analyze their experiences and thereby contribute to the decelopment of the critical knowledge process.
