Howdy folks. Hell, it's been a long time coming, but I have finally got my arse in gear and worked out the Emmie tune for your god-awful, totally non-musical Ericsson phones! ;-p OK, I haven't had a look at an Ericsson phone yet, but I had a look at a site which offers programmes for ring tones, and I think I've worked out what they can do and what they can't. One thing is not clear, and that is whether all the notes can be raised by an octave, or just c and d. The notes available on the keypad numbers alone are c, d, e, f, g, a, b, c+ and d+, with c+ and d+ being 'up the octave' notes. It does, however, say in the manual that you can press and hold zero to raise a note by an octave. What I want you to do is this - 1) go to the compose your own ring part of the phone. 2) press 3 to get the note e. 3) now press 0 to raise e by an octave. OK, does it now say e+ ? (as opposed to just e ) If the answer is no... You can only have the first two lines of the tune; they look like this: d g d+ C+ * * * a# a a# g f d# d D# * * * * * * * c d# c+ A# * * * a g a f d# d c D * * * * * * * If the answer is yes... You can input the whole tune (if there is enough space), and it looks like this: e a e+ D+ * * * c+ b c+ a g f e F * * * * * * * d f d+ C+ * * * b a b g f e d E * * * * * * * c f c+ A# * * * a g a e g f e F * * * * * c d E * * f g A * F * D * G * C * * * * * * * * * * In these codes, the notes with a + sign are raised by one octave, the capital letters (eg. D) are long notes (press and hold), and the * s are rests or pauses. It's very important you have the right number of pauses, or the tune will sound shite. OK, best of luck, and let me know how you get on. Kate*** k.ohara.98a@stac.ac.uk The Chris Tate Appreciation Society @ http://christate.swsites.net
