The Commercial Office of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Stockholm is one of 65 offices around the world. The objectives of the commercial offices are to promote Egyptian foreign trade, investments in Egypt, and to manage the economic and trade relations between Egypt and foreign countries. In addition, the commercial offices play a vital role in strengthening economic relations between Egypt and countries worldwide. The headquarters of the Commercial Representation in Cairo, Egypt, directs the commercial offices around the world, and reports directly to the Egyptian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali. The commercial offices represent the Egyptian government; however, they serve both the private and public sectors alike.
The relations between Egypt and Sweden have a long history of stability. There have always been extensive trade exchange between the two countries. In this regard, several bilateral agreements between Egypt and Sweden have been signed, as well as several other trade investment agreements between Egypt and Sweden as a member of the EU have been implemented.
The main efforts of the commercial office in Stockholm are therefore directed towards the promotion of such activities, with the ultimate objective of enhancing the trade relations between Egypt and Sweden.
