Anton Szandor LaVey founded the Church of Satan in 1966 and released The Satanic Bible three years later. The Satanic Bible has sold more than 2 million copies (The numbers that I have heard) over the world.

Satanists from Church of Satan are for the most of times not responsible for the things that the media says that "satanists" have done, like church-burnings or animal-killings. That is more often the work of devilworshippers. The satanism that CoS stands for is not a reversed christian religion. Satanists in the CoS does NOT worship Satan as a god. Satan to a Laveyan Satanist is not a live beast in the pits of hell, Satan represents your own lifeforce. The human is Satan since the human actually stands for almost everything that the christian church is trying to take away. For almost 2000 years christianity have been trying to make all the human stands for to a sin. Take lust for example, every human being feels lust for something in this world. Make your lusts and fantasies come true instead of trying to hide them inside you.

Satanists are often accused of crimes such as desecration of cemeteries, churchburnings, animal sacrifices and child-abuse. The CoS does not stand behind churchburnings or desecrations of cemetaries and satanists do not kill animals unless attacked or for eating. And the 9th law of the satanist clearly says: "Do not harm little children".

Christianity

What I am about to write here has nothing to do with the Church of Satan, these are just my views of christianity. Christianity, I must say, is far more evil than satanism. Have you ever heard of satanists going to war killing millions of people in the name of Satan? If you take a look in "the holy bible" you will see that God has done far more horrible things than Satan. The only "evil" thing Satan did was trying to take gods place. (Seems like God canīt stand competition)
